The “Ralph” is the home of the University of North Dakota Division I Hockey team. A total seating capacity of 11,560 surrounds the regulation sized ice sheet. This state-of-the-art facility includes forty-four luxury suites, four party suites, and two club rooms with a capacity of 120 in each.

The building is constructed with a structural steel frame supporting 5 floors of cast-in-place concrete on metal decking. The roof is framed of large structural steel fabricated trusses that clear span the arena and support bar joists and metal deck roof. Due to heavy building loads and soft soils a driven steel pile deep foundation system was selected to support the structure. The exterior walls consist of precast concrete wall panels with inlaid brick to expedite the installation. The roof structure is designed to support the 50,000 lbs. center-hung score board (the largest in college hockey) as well as large rigging loads for concerts.
