Upon completing a six-story, 100 room hotel tower, which consists of precast walls and floors while the casino expansion was a combination of precast walls with steel frame and steel roof joists, the expansion was finished.
Attention was next turned to the existing casino area. This area was converted into an event center capable of seating up to 1,500 or can be subdivided into two separate spaces. The renovation required removal of some of the existing pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) columns and replacing with a steel truss to create a grand open floor plan. This gives flexibility to offer concerts, events, conventions, plus many community happenings.
Arriving at the facility, guests are greeted by a steel frame entry canopy inspired from a traditional pow-wow dancer’s fan. The hotel tower offers active and unique lighting imitating the feel and awe of the Northern Lights… which rightfully names the casino and resort as Sky Dancer. The foundation system consisted of a spread footings supported on rammed aggregate piers.
