The Williston Area Recreational Center (ARC), a five-acre recreational center located on the campus of Williston State University, is one of the largest park district-owned indoor recreation center in the country and is open to the public.
Greeting guest is a fireplace and lounge area with a glass window looking into the pool area. Included in the design are four indoor tennis courts, an indoor turf, batting cages, four basketball courts, a multiuse gymnasium, 200-meter track, 50-meter NCAA competition level pool, instruction pool, waterpark and wave simulator, indoor playground, wave pool, several cardio areas, golf simulator, cardio and weight circuits, and teen area.
A combination of structural steel frame and masonry bearing walls, precast floor deck, steel roof joists and metal roof deck. A pre-engineered metal building frame was used for the large court area. There is a suspended running track around the gym the walls of which are precast concrete.
